The Best Non-Chocolate Advent Calendars You Can Buy This Year

Every year our supermarket shelves are lined with advent calendars filled with chocolate and lollies — they’re classic, they’re delicious, and I will continue to buy them no matter how old I get. However, as I get older, I am appreciating the non-chocolate advent calendars joining the rotation. Makeup, skincare, and other luxe treats can likely be found in advent calendars from some of your fave brands, as well as some you might not have heard of.

Caution: spoilers ahead! If you like to be surprised by your advent calendars, read the names and visit the links, but avoid the details!

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Treasure Chest of Love

Charlotte Tilbury releases a jaw-dropping holiday collection every year, and 2024 is no exception. Charlotte’s Beauty Treasure Chest of Love is a 12 door (or drawer) advent calendar filled with some of the brand’s most iconic products — including the Airbrush Setting Spray, mega-viral Pillow Talk Lipstick, and Charlotte’s Magic Cream. You’ll find a range of skincare and makeup products in this heart-shaped beauty treasure chest, which can also be reused as beauty storage. It’ll set you back $320 — although according to the brand, it’s worth $460.

12 Days of Kikki.K Advent Calendar

This one is for all my stationary fanatics out there (my people); we know Kikki.K does some of the cutest there is, and the 12 Days of Kikki.K Advent Calendar wraps up some of the best into a little stationery wardrobe, complete with fold-out-doors, and pull-out-drawers. The 12 drawers house handy things like a mini notepad and notebook, as well as highlighters, pens, and a range of other Kikki.K classics. It’s $119 and sure to sell out fast, with very few stationery advent calendars on the market.

Glasshouse 24 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar

If you’re tossing up between a perfume advent calendar, a candle advent calendar, or a body care advent calendar, then look no further than Glasshouse where you can get all three in one. The Glasshouse 24 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar is filled with 24 of the brand’s most-loved candles, perfumes, hand creams, and body bars in some of its most well-loved scents including Kyoto in Bloom and A Tahaa Affair. For $275, the Glasshouse advent calendar gives you a true taste of the brand, whether you’re a dedicated customer with a love for all the scents, or a bit of a newbie excited to mix things up.

Lush 12 Days of Christmas

When it comes to bath bombs and bath and shower products, no one does it quite like Lush. The 12 Days of Christmas calendar features Christmas themed Lush classics like bath bombs, shower gels, bubble bars, and a lip scrub. In case the products weren’t Christmass-y enough in shape and name (think Merry Kissmas lip scrub and Sweet Pudding bath bomb), not to worry, in true Lush style, each one has a Christmas scent, including candy cane and spiced caramel. This bath and body advent calendar is $160, but Lush also sells bigger calendars for $250 and $380.

T2 For the Love of Flavour Tea Bag 24 Day Advent Calendar

Australian Christmas might be in summer, but a warm cup of tea is comforting any time of year. The T2 For the Love of Flavour Advent Calendar lets you sip your way through 24 different teas. It includes black, green, herbal, and rooibos teas, from classics like Melbourne Breakfast to fruity infusions like Pumping Pomegranate, and dessert-inspired brews like Sticky Date Delight. Have one a day in the countdown to Christmas, or have yourself a tea marathon and work your way through them in a weekend. For $48, this tea advent calendar is one of the more affordable non-chocolate options on the market.

Diptyque Advent Calendar

Christmas countdowns don’t get much more indulgent than with the Diptyque Advent Calendar. Featuring 25 Diptyque products, it’ll take you right through from December 1st to Christmas day, adding multiple candles and perfumes, as well as a room spray, hand wash, and a unique set of Diptyque decorations to your collection. This is the advent calendar for anyone who likes to live a little luxuriously. It’s definitely the most expensive on our list — coming in at $764 — but if you’ve ever bought, or even looked at, a Diptyque product, you know that’s to be expected — and you know why.

Francesca Jewellery Advent Calendar

Australian designer jewellery brand Francesca is one of very few that releases a yearly advent calendar. Featuring charms, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, the Francesca Jewellery Advent Calendar is an opportunity for a complete jewellery refresh over just 12 days. Don’t worry, it comes in gold, rose gold, and silver options, so you’re not going to get stuck with a metal you won’t wear. It’s $399 for the silver jewellery advent calendar, and $499 for both the rose and the gold, saving you up to $349 when compared to if you were to buy the pieces individually. The jewellery includes pearls and cubic zirconia stones, as well as some non-charm pieces.

Adairs Christmas Candle Advent Calendar

If you liked the sound of the Glasshouse and Diptyque calendars, but were only really interested in the candles, then this might be the calendar for you. The Adairs Christmas Candle Advent Calendar features 12 candles, each 50 grams, and inspired by Christmas. Scents include Gingerbread, Aussie Beach, Festive Spice, and White Christmas. Held in a dollhouse-like calendar, there’s something very nostalgic and festive about this one — and it’s only $99.99.

Benefit Cosmetics Holiday Advent Calendar – The Gorgeous Grocer

Benefit sets the standard when it comes to creativity and value in holiday beauty. This year, the brand’s collection is grocery store and food themed, featuring a soup can and chip packet packaging, but The Gorgeous Grocer Advent Calendar takes the cake. A pink shopping basket filled with 24 of Benefit’s best makeup and skincare products in both mini and full-sizes. The four full-size products are the Porefessional primer, Badgal Bang mascara, 24-hr Brow Setter gel, and Roller Liner eyeliner, which if bought individually at full price come out to close to $200. But for $299, you can get these plus the 20 ‘fun-size’ products in The Gorgeous Grocer Basket.

ASOS Face + Body 25 Day Advent Calendar 2024

Now while some of the beauty calendars included in this round-up are incredible, they each only include the one brand that makes them. That’s the point of difference for the ASOS Face + Body 25 Day Advent Calendar. It includes products from Sol de Janeiro, The Inkey List, Elemis, and First Aid Beauty; it’s the perfect beauty advent calendar for those looking to sample some new brands, or get a taste of products they’re yet to try. For $199, it claims to save you 76 per cent off retail price, making it a serious contender in the beauty beauty and body care advent calendar world.

If you’re looking to go beyond, or (like me) have something in addition to, your choccy advent calendar this year, then you’re in luck because these brands have made sure there is something for everyone, whether you’re treating a loved one or treating yourself. Try some new teas, new beauty products, or new candles — or just stock up on some old favourites. There isn’t a much better way to do any of it than with an advent calendar. And don’t worry, if you open every door on day one, I won’t judge you.
